Roloverit is a 3D action/platformer with an open world mission-based structure.
You play as Rol, a delivery cat that works as a courier for a shipping company in a metropolis populated by antropomorphic animals, in a world where humans are no more.
He's a cheecky trouble-maker that rarely takes his job seriously. All of a sudden though he gets involved in a secret operation against the rival shipping company, which through gadgets and pieces of technology is brainwashing the entire population in order to control the city and then the world.
The navigation system (and main gimmick of the game) is the Canner.
This particular piece of Tech, allows Rol (the player) to transport any item inside and protect it from any damage that it may receive.
Its double nature lets the player choose how to approach 3D platforming in the way they prefer:
By keeping it in "backpack mode" platforming will be the classic, run, jump, climb routine, letting casual gamers take their time and not feel pressured and stressed.
"Roller mode" instead unleashes the skills of hardcore gamers, by using physics to gain momentum when rolling downhill and then jump at the right time to launch themself from building to building in order to skip terrain and save time (speedrunners fuel, basically).
Also, the Canner is used to attack the enemies in the game: Rol can push it against foes, hitting them with it like a hammer, using it as a shield during fighting sequences, and use it to activate some mechanism... just be careful, because if let unprotected for too long, the enemies of the game will nab it from you.
Roloverit is a personal project of mine that started as a mobile game pitch and then developed to be more and more complex as sketches came through.
it's a 3D action platformer with the use of physics that the player needs to master in order to move in this world (think a mix between Zelda Botw, Jet Set Radio and Sonic the hedgehog).
